The Rape of the Sabine Women, Giambologna, 1583

What are you up to this weekend? Tomorrow we're having friends over for Brunch (Isaac is making his famous breakfast tacos) then we are all going to check out the Brooklyn Museum (I still haven't seen the much raved about Kehinde Wiley show) in the afternoon. I'm also going to strap on my running shoes and go for my first jog around Prospect Park since winter began.  Pray for me. Many (too many) kettle chips have been eaten over the last three months. Have the loveliest one, friends.

In the meantime, here's my best of the net this week.

You can now download 422 free art books from the Met. Nice.

Letter to my first love

A view from the bus

A beautiful art installation in Japan

Super adorbs custom stamps. Wouldn't these make such a great housewarming gift?

I'm excited to string some of these on our little terrace

I re-read this on the subway this week. It's still the most beautiful memoir I've ever read.

Heartbreakingly beautiful Emmy Lou Harris, back in the day

A moving and honest portrayal of a very brave woman

And breathe

This sounds like a great Saturday night dinner
